Saddle up for a Cody, Wyoming getaway

RodeoWithin the first few hours of setting your cowboy boots in Cody, you’ll quickly realize how its community lives up to the phrase “Cody is Rodeo”. In Wyoming, rodeo celebrates a way of life and pays homage to the American hero and icon, the cowboy. Many travel to Cody, the rodeo capital of the world, to experience and witness the excitement of this age-old tradition.  Thanks to showman Buffalo Bill Cody, America grew fascinated with this Wild West spectacle.

The rodeo capital of the world hosts some of the most famous rodeos, notably the Cody Stampede and the Cody Nite Rodeo, the longest running rodeo in the United States. The Cody Stampede, July 1- 4, is one of several top rodeos held during the long holiday that cowboys refer to as “Cowboy Christmas”. The Cody Stampede attracts many of the top cowboys from across North America where they compete to win the big purses and ride the best stock. Having operated for over 60 years, the Cody Nite Rodeo hosts full rodeo entertainment every night, all summer long where you have a chance to watch various rodeo events from bull ride to barrel racing.

Cody, Wyoming is also the proud host of another thrilling event, the Cody/Yellowstone Xtreme Bulls event. This exciting event attracts many top contenders in the exhilarating world of bull riding competition.  

So, strap on that cowboy gear, head out for a rodeo and get ready for a boot stomping good time in Cody, Wyoming.
