Wyoming Mountain Guides
Zach Lentsch – Owner & Operator of Wyoming Moutain Guides
Zach Lentsch is an avid climber, guide, and owner of Wyoming Mountain Guides, a professional climbing guiding service that operates across the state of Wyoming. A Bighorn Basin native, Zach has been exploring wild parts of northern Wyoming for as long as he can remember. One of his first memories is getting lost in a blizzard while elk hunting with his dad at the age of three. He started climbing in his teens under the tutelage of his high school math teacher and was amazed to discover the incredible amount of world class rock, ice, and alpine climbing close to home. He also developed a love for teaching others how to climb and explore wild places. After college and many years of working out of state, in 2018 Zach returned to Wyoming and founded Wyoming Mountain Guides with the aim of creating opportunities for others to explore the amazing climbing in Wyoming in a safe and sustainable manner.
Since its founding, Wyoming Mountain Guides has become a preeminent climbing guiding service spanning the entire state of Wyoming. They guide custom rock, ice, and alpine climbing trips as well as educational youth and community climbing programs across the state. They also guide more terrain in Wyoming than any other service, including the Absaroka, Wind River, Bighorn, and Medicine Bow Mountains as well as Devils Tower, Fremont Canyon, Vedauwoo and many other world class climbing venues. The team at Wyoming Mountain Guides is composed of highly trained and talented local experts who know the terrain they guide extremely well. The mission of the company is to provide safe, sustainable, and supportive climbing guiding to people of all walks of life who want to challenge themselves and gain a better appreciation of the vertical wilderness in Wyoming.
