It might be hard to believe, but another year in Cody Yellowstone is coming to a close. There were plenty of Wild escapades, outdoor adventures, journeys through history, and nights at the rodeo this year. In fact, so much happened throughout 2023 that we thought this was the perfect time to look back and reflect on all the excitement. But then, we had an even better idea! What if, instead of sharing highlights of the year from our perspective, we share them from your perspective? That’s why we’ve rounded up some of our favorite photos and videos you took throughout 2023 right here.

So, before we welcome 2024, let’s take a moment to remember just how amazing 2023 was — all from the perspective of adventurers just like you! And if you love this content, be sure to follow us on Instagram for even more.

Wildlife in Cody Yellowstone

Cody Yellowstone is well known for its abundance of incredible wildlife. Which makes sense — when Yellowstone National Park is located in your backyard, it’s easy to catch a glimpse of some truly Wild animals. Of course, you saw plenty of bison this year, but there were also elk, mountain goats, bears, and more (oh my!) Here are a few of our favorite wildlife photos and videos from 2023 — all photographed by you.

Outdoor Recreation in Cody Yellowstone

This year, travelers from around the world took a walk (and bike, and paddle, and climb) on the Wild Side!  With so many amazing outdoor recreation opportunities available throughout Cody Yellowstone, you explored every inch of this beautiful place we call home — and took some incredible shots while doing so!

The Natural Beauty of Cody Yellowstone

In 1869, the Cook-Folsom-Peterson Expedition returned from the Cody Yellowstone region with otherworldly stories about the landscapes they discovered in the region. When they submitted their stories to Lippincott’s Magazine, they were rejected with the response, “Thank you, but we do not print fiction.”

Cody Yellowstone has always had a can’t-believe-it’s-real quality — from the colors of the Grand Prismatic Spring to the power of Old Faithful. There’s nothing quite like the natural wonders of our region. While we’ve learned that photos simply cannot do justice to the beauty that surrounds us in Cody Yellowstone, it doesn’t mean we don’t love to see folks try!

Downtown Cody Yellowstone and Beyond

Of course, there was plenty happening in our communities this year in Cody Yellowstone, and vacationers were all on hand to capture special moments across four seasons. You explored the beautiful  Buffalo Bill Center of the West — home to five museums under one roof — and got a taste of the Old West at Old Trail Town and Museum. You documented parades and shopping experiences, fantastic meals, fun spots to stay, and one-of-a-kind spots to shop. Most importantly, you showed the world what special places towns like Powell, Meeteetse, and Cody are to visit.

The Rodeo Capital of the World

Cody Yellowstone and Rodeo go hand in hand. After all, this is the Rodeo Capital of the World and home to the longest-running nightly rodeo on Earth! And, of course, every July 4th weekend, Cody Yellowstone’s Cody Stampede Rodeo captures the hearts and minds of cowboys and girls from around the world. This rodeo season, you caught some unforgettable moments and shared them with us. Hold on tight — here are a few of our favorites!
