Cody Yellowstone Announces Return of Weekly Non-Stop Flights to and from Chicago
CODY, Wyo., January 29, 2026 – After a five-year hiatus, weekly non-stop flights from Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport (ORD) to northwestern Wyoming’s Yellowstone Regional Airport (COD) just minutes from downtown Cody will be back this summer.
From May 22 through September 19, United Airlines flights will depart ORD on Fridays at 4:25 p.m. and arrive at COD at 6:45 p.m. On Saturdays, flights will depart COD at 8:45 a.m. and land at ORD at 12:55 p.m. Aircraft will be Embraer 175s with a capacity of 70, including first-class and economy cabins.
“We could not be happier to welcome back these non-stops from Chicago,” said Katrina Southern, marketing manager for Cody Yellowstone which is comprised of the towns of Cody, Powell and Meeteetse, a large swath of the Shoshone National Forest and about half of Yellowstone National Park. “In addition to serving one of our country’s largest and most dynamic cities, these flights offer another connecting option for United States residents east of the Mississippi, Canadians and international travelers during our peak season.”
Small and immensely popular with locals and visitors alike, Cody’s airport is located just minutes from the center of town, which allows visitors to begin their vacation fun shortly after they land. The airport also offers onsite rental cars from several different companies.
In addition to the Chicago flights, United offers multiple daily flights between Denver and Cody year-round.
Cody is the only Yellowstone gateway town that features access to two park entrances. The East Gate of the park is 52 miles from Cody, and the Northeast Gate is about 76 miles away. Both routes include sections of scenic byways featuring valleys, mountains, rivers and other spectacular natural features.
Cody itself is known for its western authenticity and is home to a wide variety of attractions such as the Buffalo Bill Center of the West, By Western Hands, the Irma Hotel, Heart Mountain WW II Interpretive Center, Old Trail Town/Museum of the Old West and much more.
