Farm-to-Fork Event in Cody Yellowstone, Eat Wyoming Chef’s Feast, Will Showcase Cody Yellowstone’s Talented Chefs and Fresh-Grown and Farm-Raised Ingredients
CODY, Wyo., August 22, 2025 – The fresh, farm-grown flavors of Wyoming will take center-stage at the exclusive Eat Wyoming Chef’s Feast, a two-day farm-to-fork celebration featuring northwest Wyoming’s very best local food and wine as well as its talented chefs.
The event, with space for 60 guests, includes an elegant, multi-course plated dinner and wine pairing at The Colonel in downtown Cody on the evening of Oct. 4 as well as a buffet-style Harvest Brunch on Sunday, Oct. 5 at the Smithsonian-affiliated and world-renowned Buffalo Bill Center of the West. The event is priced at $299, and tickets can be booked online.
Dishes for both events will be sourced from fresh, locally grown ingredients supplied by Eat Wyoming’s network of some 110 farmers and ranchers. Throughout the year, Eat Wyoming provides diners with an enthusiasm for local ingredients with online shopping options for fresh items. Shipments can be picked up in pre-arranged locations in towns across the state. The organization also promotes the state’s local farmers markets and provides ideas on how to use fresh ingredients, such as this blog about sauerkraut and this story about Wyoming beef.
“The state of Wyoming, and in particular, the northwestern region of Wyoming, features robust and diverse agricultural offerings which allow residents and visitors alike to eat Wyoming-grown and Wyoming-raised food year-round,” said Jesse Miller, a Casper-based doctor who founded the organization. “We’ve seen enthusiasm for locally grown produce and ranch-raised meats in the last few years. Since Cody already has a thriving restaurant scene, it was an obvious choice for staging a culinary celebration of the year’s harvest.”
Miller said he expects the event to sell out quickly and urged interested residents and visitors to secure seats as soon as possible.
The evening event will showcase the culinary skills of Nathan Kardos, the executive chef and owner of one of Cody’s newest and most popular restaurants, Trailhead Bar-Grill-Woodfired Pizza. Kardos also owns The Colonel, an event space adjacent to the restaurant. On Sunday, guests can sample the creations of Buffalo Bill Center of the West chefs Courtney Scheiber and Danielle Dearcorn.

Heart Mountain WWII Interpretive Center – Situated on the site of a WWII Japanese-American internment camp, Heart Mountain offers a series of public programs such as mochi and sake tastings and Chirashi Sushi Bowl making at the Heart Mountain Mineta-Simpson Institute. The hands-on workshops offered throughout the year, are designed to educate the public about the traditions and culture of the Americans who were once confined there.
Powell agricultural tours: Food-lovers who want to know the origins of the cuisine they eat will enjoy a Powell Agricultural Tour, which includes stops – and food samples – at farms throughout the area. The Powell Chamber of Commerce can coordinate tours for any size group.
2 Mules Chuckwagon – This is a summer-season staple for travelers seeking a true Western adventure. With an authentic chuckwagon for staging the meal, the friendly owners of 2 Mules Chuckwagon cook fresh steaks and go-withs like beans, coleslaw, biscuits and Dutch oven cobbler just like cowboys did when cooking on the range. 2 Mules Chuckwagon is located adjacent to the Smithsonian-affiliated Buffalo Bill Center of the West, and many visitors combine the chuckwagon dinner with a visit to the museum.
Bill Cody Ranch – Marking its 100th anniversary this year, Bill Cody Ranch offers Mountain Top Lunch Rides that include trail rides to a spot overlooking the Buffalo Bill Cody Reservoir. There, wranglers cook burgers over an open fire for lunch.
Cody Yellowstone Sippin’ Trail – Cody Yellowstone’s Sippin’ Trail is a great way for thirsty and hungry visitors to experience some of the region’s most popular restaurants and bars. The trail includes breweries, restaurants and unique venues such as a cigar lounge and a historic hotel built by town founder Buffalo Bill Cody.
