Yellowstone Regional Airport in Cody, Wyo. to Host “Run the Runway, Once in a Blue Moon” Fun Runs
Runners will “Run the Runway” under August’s second full moon.
CODY, Wyo., July 17, 2023 – It’s not often that runners get the chance to race along the straight flat stretches of an airport runway, but they will have the opportunity Aug. 30 during the month’s second – or “Blue” – moon.
Yellowstone Regional Airport in Cody, Wyo. will be the site of the Run the Runway, Once in a Blue Moon runs. The one-mile as well as 5 and 10k runs will take place Aug. 30 from 9-10:30 p.m. with the runway lights providing illumination. Proceeds from the race will support CYAIR’s efforts to bring more service to the airport.
CYAIR, a non-profit organization providing support to the airport, is organizing the evening. In addition to the races, participants and spectators will enjoy chili, craft beer and other refreshments.

flights,” said Ryan Hauck, executive director of Cody Yellowstone, the marketing arm for the region. Hauck is also a member of the CYAIR board of directors. “This is even more exciting that it is occurring with a Blue Moon shining down.”
Cost to participate is $35 and will include a commemorative T-shirt. Registration can be done online, and the deadline to sign up is Aug. 15.
