At RSC Powersports we offer a wide variety of tours in the greater Basin area including one of a kind tours in RSC Powersports Side by Sides with tours of the Kirwin Ghost Town, McCullough Peaks, Red Lakes and Clark’s Fork Canyon. Ghost Town of Kirwin The ghost town of Kirwin, Wyoming is located 34 miles southwest of Meeteetse, Wyoming at the head of the Wood River. Gold and Silver was discovered in this area in 1885. In 1897, the first ore was transported out of the area. During your trip discover Kirwin’s history. Kirwin’s population was about 200 people and included a sawmill, boarding houses, a hotel, two stores, a post office, cabins, stables, and sheds. In February of 1907, an avalanche swept through Kirwin and killed several people. The site was abandoned. Many of the buildings and equipment remain. McCollough Peaks Enjoy an excursion to Wyoming’s McCullough Peaks via Side by Side. The event highlights the extraordinary high desert area including historical information about Buffalo Bill Cody and Jim Bridger as well as the early indigenous people. You will experience unparalleled views, expansive geological formations while watching for wildlife. Red Lakes Red Lakes Recreation area provides over 3,000 acres of trails, play areas, sand washes, steep and challenging hill climbs, and miles and miles of 4WD trails. The area offers a great deal of variety. There is a little bit of everything for all experience levels. Clarks Fork River and Canyon The Clarks Fork of the Yellowstone flows through the Shoshone National Forest through the awesome Clarks Fork Canyon located just inside the mouth of the canyon. The area displays geology that is internationally studied. The canyon is a part of the Nez Perce (Nee-Me-Poo) National Historic Trail and offers abundant fishing, riding and hiking.
